PRE SCOOL DANCE CURRICULUM ASSESSMENT-First Time In The OECS St. Lucia School of Ballet and Modern Dance launched for the first time in September 2011 the Pre School Dance Curriculum of the ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE -UK. Ballet Examinations slated in May, presented (6) Pre Primary Reception students for the PRE SCHOOL DANCE CURRICULUM ASSESSMENT . The Examiner was Ms. Paola Haro of Royal Academy of Dance Mexico. Classical Ballet Examinations 2017 Finally we have come to the end of another Academic Year. We end the year with success in the Classical Ballet examinations ( 100% pass) which took place on the 1st June . The Classical Ballet examiner from The Royal Academy of Dance this year was Mrs. Lesley Shearer. Due to insufficient numbers the Modern and Tap candidates were not able to enter the annual ISTD examinations. They are now scheduled for May 2018. Merits and Distinction WELL DONE EVERYONE! Dance workshop - WESLYN STEPHENS Tuesday 11th - Thursday 13th July 2017 Weslyn is a passed student of ours who trained with the school from infant to Vocational Level. She has now acquired her Masters in Dance in the U.S.A and will be returning to St. Lucia to visit relatives and friends and of course the school. Weslyn will be conducting a three day workshop at the Cultural Development foundation, for the 12yrs -junior to adult. There will be a morning session and evening session .A registration fee $ 50.00 dollars will be applied, more details will follow. 02 Jul 2017

EXAMINATIONS APRIL And MAY 2018 PRESS RELEASE The International Dance and Drama Institute of St. Lucia (formerly known as the St. Lucia School of Ballet & Modern Dance) recognises and honours the achievements of students who had, for the academic year September 2017 to July 2018, dedicated themselves to the discipline and study of the international dance syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD UK) in Classical Ballet and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing ( ISTD UK) in Modern Theatre Dance. The students achieved a 100% pass in both genres gaining Distinctions and Merits from the primary level up to advanced 2 Professional -Dance company standard. Examiners flew in from Canada and the UK on April 16th and May 31st 2018 and examined at the Cultural Development Foundation, the Authorised examination Centre for both international examining boards. Students trained in Vieuxfort were also amongst the successes. St.Lucia School of Ballet and Modern Dance is the oldest and most reputable dance school in Saint Lucia and within the 9 member states constituting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. The school is fast approaching the 40th year of operation in St.Lucia in 2019. Mrs. Theresa Lowrie-Collymore continues to direct and expand the dance school to the districts of Reunion and Mongouge, Choiseul. the goal being to bring dance education to all communities in Saint Lucia; meanwhile still offering classes at Cultural Development Foundation ,Balata, Rodney Bay and Vieuxfort. The Institute will be hosting their Christmas Concert at the end of November entitled "the Greatest story ever told."
