Richard C. Ambrose

Holds an Arts degree – Arts Du Spectacle:  Études chorégraphiques from St. Denis University in Paris. He is a former member of UDAS and UDANCE having graduated from UWI Mona with a BSc. in Sociology and Accounting.  He holds professional teaching qualifications (Diplome D’état) in Jazz and Contemporary dance. While in Guadeloupe, he studied (Techni’ ka) under its founder at the Lena Blou choreographic centre. He has successfully completed Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet Syllabus intermediate level and Imperial society for teachers of Dancing modern theatre dance syllabi- Advanced 2 Level - with distinction.

 

Awarded the Francophonie scholarship for Masters studies at UQAM, Richard has presented artistic installations at UWI Open campus, papers at conferences including the Antigua & Barbuda International Dance and folk festival, and the Bèlè Djouba dance festival in Martinique. An artiste with Antipodes, an acrobatic dance company, he now works with La Truche –  based in South America. He has choreographed and danced for British Royalty, the Prime Minister of Taiwan. His work has been featured at Carifesta 2017 in Barbados, 2019 in Trinidad & Tobago and the Black Arts festival in Senegal.
